Hey there! I'm Kelly, the gal behind the flowers at Barn Swallow Blossoms. I farm sustainably-grown cut flowers on the McKenzie River in Oregon. I started growing flowers a few years ago while working on small-scale, organic vegetable farms near Eugene. What started as a hobby quickly bloomed into a passion project and mild obsession with flowers...and now a small business! I'm proud to serve the McKenzie River Valley and Eugene/Springfield area with my blooms and to contribute to the burgeoning "slow flowers" landscape here in Oregon.
After growing in Leaburg for the past two years, I'm excited to announce that Barn Swallow Blossoms has a new home in Springfield! We are thrilled to partner with the McKenzie River Trust in stewarding the farmland at the Berggren Watershed Conservation Area. In addition to flowers, my partner Adam and I hope to offer sustainably-produced meat, eggs, and fall/winter vegetables starting in 2022 under the name Willow & Oak Farm.
While BSB is not certified organic, I use organic methods and am committed to sustainable growing practices that are safe for you and for the environment. Because our farm land is located on a land trust, we pay particular attention to using agricultural practices that support our local wildlife, pollinators, soil health, and the McKenzie River watershed.
